2026 All Star Coaches

Over the coming weeks, East Nepean Little League will be introducing the coaches selected to lead our 2026 All Star teams at the Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior levels. We are proud to recognize the dedication, experience, and passion these coaches bring to our program.

MINOR DIVISION

Mike Prins – Minor All Star Coach

East Nepean Little League is pleased to announce Mike Prins as the 2026 Minor All Star Coach.

Mike brings five years of experience volunteering and assisting with coaching at East Nepean. A lifelong baseball player, he has also contributed to the development of young athletes through hockey, volunteering on-ice over the past three seasons and coaching a spring hockey team.

His commitment to youth sports and player development is evident across all levels he supports. For the upcoming season, Mike’s goal is to foster a strong love of the game—creating an environment where players are excited to return and continue their baseball journey year after year.

MAJOR DIVISION

Steven Cote – Major All Star Coach

East Nepean Little League is excited to welcome back Steven Cote as the 2026 Major All Star Coach.

Steven returns for his second consecutive year leading the Major All Star team. His recent track record speaks for itself: as Minor All Star Coach in 2023 and 2024, he led his team to a D2/D6 Championship and the 2024 Ontario Little League Provincial Championship. In 2025, as Major All Star Coach, he guided his team to another D2/D6 Championship and a strong performance at Provincials.

With extensive experience as a player, umpire, and coach, Steven has been a dedicated volunteer with East Nepean for several years. His coaching background spans Rookie, Minor, and Major divisions at the Canadian level, along with All Star experience including Head Coach of the 11-year-old All Star team (2020) and Assistant Coach for the 2022 Major All Stars.

Heading into 2026, Steven aims to build on past success and compete for a Major Provincial Championship.

JUNIOR DIVISION

David Hall – Junior All Star Coach

East Nepean Little League is pleased to announce David Hall as the 2026 Junior All Star Coach.

Dave brings nine years of coaching experience across Rookie, Minor, and Major divisions at both the Canadian and All Star levels. His teams have achieved significant success, including:

D2/D26 All-Star Championship

D2/D6/D8 Canadian-level Championships (x2)

Deep run at the 2025 Major Provincial Tournament

Multiple tournament wins and finals appearances

In addition, Dave has been a key contributor to East Nepean’s winter development programs for over five seasons, helping players strengthen their skills, teamwork, and dedication to the game.

As he looks ahead to the 2026 season, Dave is focused on building a motivated team culture, refining player skills, and continuing to inspire a passion for baseball.

SENIOR DIVISION

East Nepean Little League is pleased to announce Paul Robert as the 2026 Senior All-Star Coach.

Coach Paul brings 15 years of coaching experience, with 7 as a coach or assistant coach in East Nepean. Paul also has experience from managing in the NCBL and working on their league executive committee highlighting his commitment to baseball in Ottawa over the years.

Coach Paul believes a successful team is built on accountability and effort. Dedication to a strong work ethic and being a good teammate generates success in more than just sport, and will be at the core of this year’s senior team.

With a long experience of pitching himself, player safety (especially pitching arm health) is a priority.

As Coach Paul looks ahead to 2026, his focus is on developing skilled, confident players ready to compete at districts and beyond.

From East Nepean to the World Stage

Local umpire selected for Junior League Baseball World Series

Tyler Reddick, a longtime member of the East Nepean Baseball Association, has been selected to umpire at the 2026 Junior League Baseball World Series in Taylor, Michigan. Appointment to the volunteer umpiring crew at a World Series is the highest honour Little League can bestow on an umpire

For Reddick, the moment he received the call is still hard to believe. “I got a call from the head of umpiring for Canada, completely unexpected,” he said. “I had just woken up, and he told me they wanted me to work the World Series. I was over the moon excited.”

The selection marks a significant milestone in a journey built on years of dedication to the game. Umpiring at this level requires not only a deep understanding of baseball, but also discipline, consistency, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

“You train really hard, you study, and over time you hope to build toward something like this,” Reddick said. “It takes a lot of work, constantly asking questions, learning the rules, and always trying to improve.”

At higher levels of competition, the expectations for umpires are especially demanding. “You’re at a level where you really can’t make mistakes the same way a player or coach can,” he explained. “It’s about being in the right position, applying the rules correctly, and getting those close calls right, every time.”

Despite the pressure, Reddick emphasizes that passion is what drives success. “If you’re passionate about it, it all comes naturally. It’s not hard work, it’s fun work.”

As he prepares for the World Series, mindset will play a key role. “It’s about having a positive approach, reminding yourself that you’re good enough, and just being yourself,” he said.

“There can be pressure to try to be perfect, but you have to remember they selected you for who you are.”

Reddick also hopes his experience will inspire others in the community to consider umpiring, highlighting the strong development pathway available locally. “We have such a great program here, and people don’t always realize how much fun it is,” he adds “It gives you a completely different perspective on the game, learning the rules and being part of those key moments on the field.”

For Reddick, the opportunity is especially meaningful given his deep roots in East Nepean. He has spent a decade involved in the organization, both as a player and as an umpire, growing alongside the program he now represents on the international stage.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about my first game at Doug Frobel Park and the journey I’ve had,” he said. “This organization is really all I’ve ever known. To represent East Nepean at the World Series, it means everything to me.”

Reddick’s journey is a testament to the impact of community baseball and the opportunities that can grow from it. His pride in representing East Nepean on the world stage reflects not only his personal dedication, but also the strength of the volunteers, coaches, and programs that helped shape his path. As the organization continues to grow, stories like his serve as a reminder that getting involved — whether as a player, umpire, or volunteer — can be deeply rewarding. For those considering stepping onto the field in a new role, Reddick’s experience highlights something simple but powerful: the game gives back just as much as you put into it.

Girls Baseball Growing at ENLL

Growing the Game: Girls baseball Taking Off at East Nepean

On Sundays in Barrhaven, the sound of baseball fills local diamonds: the crack of the bat, cheers from the dugout, and young athletes calling for the ball. At the East Nepean Baseball Association (ENBA), that sound reflects the continued growth of Girls baseball in the community.

Girls are not just stepping onto the baseball field; they are discovering that they belong there.

Girls baseball in Ottawa has evolved from a small initiative into a regional league, and ENBA has been part of that growth since launching its program in 2022. Today, the regional league includes more than 45 teams across 8 participatory organizations.

At East Nepean, participation has expanded each year. The association now fields multiple teams in every age category from 7 to 14. For the 2026 season, ENBA will introduce its first Senior team (ages 15–16), completing a development pathway that allows players to continue competing as they grow.

In 2025, approximately 528 girls participated in Girls baseball across Ottawa, including 109 players from ENBA.

“Girls baseball is about creating space and opportunity,” says Tara Siebarth, East Nepean Girls Baseball Coordinator. “When we launched in 2022, we knew there was interest, but seeing the growth, the confidence in our players, and the sense of community that has formed has been incredible. Adding the Senior division means our athletes now have a true pathway to continue developing and competing.”

Year-Round Development

The Girls baseball program extends beyond the regular season. The league offers:

• Regular season play (May to July), with games played on Sundays.

• Fall development program.

• Winter training camps.

This year-round structure provides players with continued opportunities to build skills and stay engaged with the sport.

ENBA teams also participate in local and regional tournaments, including the Scott Tokessy Tournament and the Eastern Canadian Girls Championships.

Regional Collaboration

ENBA participates alongside other Ottawa-area organizations including Ottawa West Little League (OWLL), South Ottawa Little League (SOLL), Kanata Baseball Association (KBA), Mississippi Mills Little League (MML), Glebe Little League (GLL), Carleton-Russell, and Orleans Little League (OLL). Together, these organizations form the Ottawa Girls baseball program.

“Community baseball is strongest when it reflects the families it serves,” says Bruce Campbell, President of the East Nepean Baseball Association. “The growth of Girls baseball is one of the most exciting developments we’ve seen in recent years. We are proud to support a program that builds confidence, leadership, and a lifelong love of the game.”

 2026 Registration Now Open

Registration for the 2026 season is underway.

In addition to Girls baseball, the East Nepean Baseball Association offers:

• Rally Cap Program (entry-level introduction to baseball).

• Co-Ed divisions (Rookie, Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior).

• Challenger Baseball (an adaptive program for players with cognitive or physical disabilities).

• 19U program for older athletes.

Participation continues to grow across all divisions, reflecting strong community interest in local baseball programs.
